Coffin Groom

by Paul J Rogers

/

about

A tale of two lovers and a silver cord.

Coffin Groom was inspired by the signature imagery found in the Tim Burton film, the 'Corpse Bride'.

This song is a tale of two lovers to continually meet, marry and die together.

The cycle continues as they reincarnate and come together to face unresolved spiritual lessons.

Coming in it at just over 7 1/2 minutes, this song is a journey that will transport you to the underworld of a soul’s cycle and back again.

It’s bold, brave & original.

Coffin Groom © Paul J Rogers 2019

You’ve gotta take everything that you need
Everything that you need
Lock it up and throw away that key
Take all the blood that you need
This is a spiritual civil war
A spiritual civil war

You know I live by the stars
And I drive them like cars
But I don’t expect them to carry me
You know, just yesterday
You felt the sting in my tail
My aim is pure spirit, but I’m not that way
You were the first to draw blood
I gladly gave you my cup
Now it’s broken and floats on the stratosphere

We thought we’d float back like gods
We were mistaken by thoughts
I never thought you would say "Yes" to me
I saw your love break away
And the gloss, turn and fade
I was replaced by a dog
And a, t-t-t-t tin of paint

You know we’re made up of stars
And each day, we find life
We will meet, marry, die when the dark ascends
When vibration is close
It’s like a thirst that won’t go
A signature bond in an endless loop
Then each day when we’re born
We meet and carry along
So much destruction and pain
When there’s none of you

We thought we’d float back like gods
We were mistaken by thoughts
And then again, you would say "Yes" to me
I saw your love break away
And the gloss, turn and fade
I was replaced by a dog
And a, t-t-t-t tin of paint

When it comes down to those moments
Of loneliness and despair
Take all the blood that you need
All the blood that you need
This is a spiritual civil war
A spiritual civil war
Take all the blood that you need

And if you hold the sword
You cannot cut me no more
For there’s no more blood in a coffin groom
In the dream where I sweat
And you're just meters away
There’s a man at stairs standing next to you
I felt deep moulins of rouge
The streamers stream back to you
Cut my arms, cut my legs, so that I can’t move

We thought we’d float back like gods
We were mistaken by thoughts
And then again you would say "Yes" to me
I saw your love break away
And the gloss, turn and fade
I was replaced by a dog
And a tin of paint
I was replaced by a dog
And a, t-t-t-t tin of paint

With actions far reaching
So far it is
The silver cord and Angel tears
With actions far reaching
So far it is
The silver cord and Angel tears
With actions far reaching
So far it is
The silver cord and Angel tears
With actions far reaching
So far it is
The silver cord
